The past two or three shows have come from a great book Dare to Win by Mark Victor Hansen. He is a great motivational speaker, an excellent author and I just realized he invents words. Here is a beauty “Stuckedness”.
It sounds like an ailment too many people suffer from.
Mark Hansen advised us to get past “stuckedness” and I quote from his book Dare to Win:
“Stuckedness” happens to all of us occasionally. It’s when we have a problem and we get stuck on it. We try to move beyond the problem, but we can’t. And as we’ve seen, if we don’t get beyond the level of a problem, all we get is more problems.
Joggers wake up occasionally and just can’t put on their running shoes. Marathon runners “hit the wall” and just can’t go on. Writers get “writer’s block.” Salespeople just can’t make another “cold call.” Investors get “down on the market.” It happens to all of us at one time or another.
What’s important is not to stay with it, let it get a grip on you. For a jogger, the answer is to put on those jogging shoes and get out there anyway. Joggers who force themselves to run, even when they don’t want to, report that they feel amazingly better when the process is over.
Marathon runners do it with heart. Their body says no, but their heart says yes. When they’ve broken through the physical wall, their mental energy soars.
When you get to “stuckedness”, close your eyes and patiently allow your “inner knower” to come up with the answer. Believe and be confident, and you will either immediately or ultimately have the answer.
