A night of glitz and glam for the first Singapore Women Entrepreneur Award (WEA) was recently conducted last March 15, 2017, in recognition for the outstanding performance of women entrepreneurs in Singapore who are driving change in both the economy and the community.
The Mediacorp and S Auxano sponsored activity aims to nurture women’s entrepreneurial spirit, to inspire the next generation of women entrepreneur, and to create a community of women, which allows for mentoring and development opportunities.
Aptly named after the most dazzling stars in the universe- the Super Nova Award, Nova Ray Star Award, and the Pulsar Award, which BCB author Sandra Yeow won, the Singapore Women Entrepreneur Award (WEA) recognized and saluted these deserving women entrepreneurs.
To Sandra, the award is very meaningful to her and her team, as it is due to her team’s effort that she has won the award. Sandra quipped, “Entrepreneurship is a tough journey that needs a lot of determination, energy, and encouragement to push on. Well, no one really goes up to his or her bosses and say, hey! Good job, right?”
It is not uncommon knowledge that being an entrepreneur and being a woman at that is not a walk in the park. The constant need to juggle business and family’s welfare is not an easy feat. While playing the role of a good boss, a woman entrepreneur also needs to be a wife and a mother and must put her shoes in other multiple roles.
A serial entrepreneur, with a particular focus in IT/ Tech Industry, Sandra knows this too well. Thus, Sandra also shared in her upcoming book, Obstinacy Power: How I Won a Car with the Power of Determination and How You Can Win in Life & Work, the Obstinacy Strategies she mastered in life that was fundamental in her winning the prestigious Pulsar Award.
