The evening of Thursday, June 18th, 2015 was not only one ofcelebration, it was of one of networking, style and class asJessie brought the community together in the launch of hisnewly published book at the Arcadian Loft, downtownToronto, Ontario, Canada.Getting a book to publication takes many steps. It is acommitment and dedication to the end result and Jessie sawthis through to fruition. He didn’t’ stop at just a publishedbook; he knew he must see it through fully if he was going touse his book as the marketing tool it was meant to be.In collaboration together, Black Card Books’ team members had the honour ofworking side by side with Jessie in making this Gala launch an evening to remember.

A Successful Launch
There are 5 key strategies in making a book launch successful and Jessie did all ofthese! Let’s review and learn what you can do to make your launch a roaring success:
1. Gala Evening Layout: Jessie had a great set up and layout for his launchincluding signs showing where each station was set up. A book-selling tablewas located at the back of the room. In fact, Jessie’s wife Giselle was at this
table all night selling books. She hardly got a chance to leave this table as shewas so busy!
2. Book Signing Table: Jessie’s book signing table was clearly labeled, in agreat location of the room and placed on top of a raised platform. Thiscreates a great way to share an author’s credibility visually. Once guestspurchased their books, they were directed over to Jessie’s table where hewould personally sign for them. Well done Jessie!
3. Charity/Non Profit in Attendance: The non-profit Jessie chose for hislaunch was Futurpreneur Canada; an organization that provides businesstools to young entrepreneurs ages 18 – 39. They had an opportunity to meetguests, share their promotional video as well as speak for a few minutes onstage. Jessie donated a portion of sales from his evening’s event to them. Awin-win for both Jessie and Futurpreneur. This is a fantastic way to providea philanthropic gesture and support organizations in helping others.4. Sponsors & Gift Bags: Gerry teaches how to fund your book through hisFund It CoachingTM program. Jessie used this system and brought on 3sponsors in partnership in which he provided exhibit space for them to sharetheir business and marketing materials with the guests. They were alsohighlighted during the event and time for networking was given betweensponsors and guests that evening. In addition, Jessie had very elegant giftbags for guests as they left the Gala to thank them for coming.
5. Behind the Scenes Set Up: All successful events must have important tools and systems in place. These include:– a professionally designed invitation.– auto responder emails confirming attendance, reminding of launch dateand location.– Guess registration system through a Squeeze Page technique.– Media Release creation and professional design.– And many more behind the scene tasks.
