For more than 25 years, Irene Stronczak-Hogan accumulated a wealth of knowledge of, and experience in, the medical and pharmaceutical fields.
Now the author of Hot Chix Hot Sex: How to Survive Menopause is on a mission, offering a women’s health consulting practice specializing in serving menopausal women. Calling on her training as a pharmacist, she assesses patients and their symptoms, recommending appropriate therapies associated with her menopause-related programs.
“If you want to expand your tribe and your business, your journey as an author involves more than just writing pages for your book. It requires that you engage, educate, and inform your audience through other media such as webinars.” – Irene Hogan
Irene admits she ventured into the live webinar universe without really knowing what she was doing but with other experts in her field having gone that route, she decided to grab the bull by the horns, so to speak.
“I decided to just do it,” says Irene.
“I researched the different webinar platforms and chose Zoom. It’s free – a bonus for starving entrepreneurs. It does have a maximum number of attendees but that’s not an issue to start. And although it states you can only have a meeting with a group, which is the same as hosting a webinar, for a limited amount of time of 45 minutes, it doesn’t cut you off at that time.”
Irene sent a webinar participation invitation to her email list on a Monday, revealing she is having a keynote presentation on Thursday of the same week. She then sent out an additional email reminder and issued a few Facebook invites to her business pages and her private group.
“Practice makes perfect, as they say, so that’s what I did. I read the instructions and fiddled around with the tech side. You really don’t need to be a tech wizard to manage the webinar platform. It is fairly easy to download the recording, both audio and visual, and post on YouTube. I sent the video to those on my email list after editing and branding it. I did make a small offer and invite but it was more to give value and nurture my market. That’s in my repertoire and is now on my website. One more deed crossed off my list.”
“You really don’t need to be a tech wizard to manage the webinar platform. In the future, I will use Facebook ads to invite more people as well as send out a webinar alert before. I will also use webinars to issue invites to group programs.”
Irene also plans to use the audio recording of her webinar as a podcast and transcribe it for a blog post, as well as edit the audio into smaller segments for training purposes.
“Life as an entrepreneur and author is never boring; frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating and joyous but never monotonous.”
