“There is always a sense of satisfaction in defeating your worst enemy – YOURSELF”– Chloe Hung
What keeps you going on? What keeps you motivated? What keeps you from giving up and throwing in the towel?
Being motivated and keeping motivated are perhaps one of the mind’s biggest struggles in achieving any goal, pursuit or passion. As our mind battles to keep pushing and continue to pursue our dreams, ambitions, and aspirations; the opposite side wants us to give up and to stay in our usual range of familiarity or our ‘comfort zone’, where we can escape the punches of criticisms and brutalities of life.
Chloe Hung, author of the groundbreaking book ‘Strength in Numbers: An In-Depth Look at Actuarial Science for Math Enthusiasts’ has been on the same boat like many of us as she has also fought the battles in her head for her dream of writing a book and becoming an entrepreneur which she shared in HR Future for its May 2017 edition.
HR Future is a South Africa-based global business-to-business magazine delivering strategic, business-driven human capital content to Executives, HR Directors, HR Managers and Line Managers in South Africa, Africa and countries around the world.
Chloe Hung has battled, been beaten yet in the endhad won the battles in her head by refusing to give in and give up on her dream to become an entrepreneur and pursue her passion of writing a book to help educate and empower aspiring individuals who also wish to pursue their careers in Actuarial Science.
Chloe revealed that “Winning the battle that goes inside your head is one of the hardest things to do. The key is to understand your thoughts and how they affect your emotions and your will power.”
Chloe indeed epitomizes someone who has won the battles in her head. Not only she has written her book ‘Strength in Numbers’, she is also currently building her investment firm to help people increase their passive income via the stock market and ultimately achieve financial freedom. Moreover, she has also recently launched her own “Making the Shift” program, where she provides one-on-one coaching to university graduates and young individuals.
