Dr. Robert Chen


Dr. Robert Chen is an associate professor, and experienced medical doctor and an author. He practiced medicine in Canada for 25 years prior to volunteering in India and Thailand.

He graduated from medical school from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He has been involved in medical education for many years. He was a faculty member of the University of British Columbia “TIPS” (Teaching Improvement Project Systems) to train other faculty members and graduate students of other faculties such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, Social Work and Anthropology among others. He has taught undergraduate medical students in his private medical clinic, nursing students, post-graduate Nurse Practitioners, and in the Advanced Nursing Program of the North West Territories (NWT) in the subarctic region of Canada, as well as teaching post-graduate students in Family Medicine in Malaysia.

He has been rated by students at Monash University Malaysia (where he taught for 3 years) and at the University Tunku Abdul Rahman (where he is currently an Associate Professor for the last 4 years) as an excellent teacher. He has received commendation from the President of University Tunku Abdul Rahman for his excellence in teaching.His hobbies are travelling, learning, teaching and volunteering.
