When a child is diagnosed with autism, it is not uncommon for parents to feel their lives are doomed to unravel. Sazini Nzula founded Dr. Sazini Consulting as a venue to coach and inspire parents to discover healthy perceptions, to see themselves as confident, knowledgeable experts who can guide their child and family toward living the life they’ve always imagined. She provides a step-by-step guide to embracing the uniqueness of your family and focusing on your child’s strengths to catapult their success.
Sazini is a contributor to The Mighty, Autism Parenting Magazine, Break the Parenting Mold, and Team Buntu and has been featured on Global Television Network, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CJAD Radio, and many more. Her Calm Autism Parenting Coaching online course and “Embrace the Challenges” motivational talks attract parents of children with special needs from around the world.
Sazini, a strong advocate for parents to play a central role in the therapy and the journey of the autistic child, believes parents are the true experts on their own children, the people who ultimately have the greatest impact on their wellbeing. As a scientist with a PhD in medical microbiology, Sazini advocates for therapies based on solid research, not just on hopes and dreams alone.
Sazini is a proud mother of two boys, both of whom have autism. She is determined to see that they learn and grow every day. In addition to caring for her boys, Sazini is also passionate about gardening and embraces the agricultural challenge to produce as much as possible during brief Canadian summers, with tropical fruit among her crops. She also enjoys travelling, reading, and meeting new people.
