Virginia Phillips, author of “Yes You Can! Your Roadmap to Dream, Create and Profit”, an inspirational speaker, an entrepreneurial coach, and a survivor shared her story of survival and success following a disabling accident that dramatically changed her life in The Successful Woman Podcast Show.
The Successful Woman Podcast interviews successful women who reveal the secrets of their success; how they have overcome challenges and grabbed at opportunities to accomplish their goals.
Having been hiding and thriving in the shroud of the ‘corporate America’ working as an HR executive, Virginia shared that her accident unveils a whole new universe of possibilities for her and boosted her confidence to carve her own road instead of just jumping on the train for somebody else.
Virginia reveals that the life altering accident happened for a reason and a purpose- and that is to help others to persevere and proceed to venture with their life’s journey, discover their self-worth, and breaks through their paralyzing fear from failures and become a capable and empowered individual, most particularly women.
As being a part of the fight of getting more women in the office, in the CEO chair, and to get more women to say what’s inside of them, Virginia encourages all women to embrace the idea that they are valuable, that they have self-worth, and that what they have inside of them matters- it matters to the world, it matters to their family, and most importantly, it matters to themselves.
Virginia happily quipped, “Your undiscovered self-worth is a gold mine.”
In this podcast, where the host usually asked guests about the ‘Impostor Syndrome’, a psychological phenomenon wherein women in particular experienced moments where they consider themselves as a fraud, or fake, or don’t accept their achievements, Virginia proudly shared that she used to be that kind of woman, but not anymore. Today, Virginia welcomes and love every minute of the awards that she is receiving, not because she needed the limelight but because those recognitions means she’s making a difference in somebody else’s life.
Virginia also shared three (3) tips and golden nuggets to take away in the podcast, these are:
- Toot your own horn.
- Keep a record of what you are grateful for every single day.
- Go out every morning and create this day the best day ever because tomorrow is not promised and you want to go out on a championship level, and today is the day to make that happen.
